6 DAY DESERT MOROCCO TOUR FROM TANGIER

DAY 1 : TANGIER - CHEFCHAOUEN - FES

We pick up from your accommodation. Then we explore the Tangier’s Kasbah, sultan’s palace and the hills of Tangier. After that, we will drive through the rif mountains to Chefchouan via Tetouan set between The Rif and the Mediterranean sea , this city has a dramatic beauty. It was founded in the third BC as Tamuda, they call it the white Dove. You will arrive Chouan in the afternoon. With its distinctive pale blue and whitewashed buildings and winding alleyways, Chefchaouen is a charming place. Then after exploring the city we head to Volubilis to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site in North Africa and very well-preserved; Roman ruins. We will continue to Meknes. You may choose to do a little exploring after you’ve rested. Your driver will be available to transport you, if desired. Overnight will be at your Riad in Fes.

DAY 2: EXCURSION IN MEDINA OF FES

Today after breakfast, we enjoy guided tour of the Fes medina, one of the world’s largest walled in cities. You will explore the narrow streets lined with fresh fruit, mounds of spices, intricately woven Berber carpets and many other art objects of Morocco. We visit to the King’s Palace, then tanneries, and also potters are just a few places you will experience.  Free afternoon, overnight in hotel / riad.

DAY 3: FES - IFRAN -AZROU - MIDELT - MERZOUGA

After breakfast we depart to Merzouga via Ifran town and cedar forests it where that we will stop for a while to enjoy seeing monkeys climbing the trees.Then Lunch is in Midelt, “the apple capital”, at the foot of the Ayachi Mountain. We continue over the Tizi-n-Talremt pass and through the Ziz Valley, which is particularly well-known for its palm trees and the length of the oasis. All along the road there are innumerable “ksars”, small villages of individual houses. From here we reach Er Rachidia and then Erfoud, famous for its date festival and fossils. .Arrive Merzouga where Morocco's unique dunes, the rest of the day will be dedicated to appreciate the evening change over the dunes. Night in Desert Hotel.

DAY 4: MERZOUGA CAMEL TREK

Today we will explore the desert area and the marvels of  the Erg Chebbi dunes. You will have the opportunity to discover the nomads’ way of life and the amazing contrasts of the desert. You will visit the Khamlia to see the Gnawa musicians before we continue to Tafilalet with its 18th century ksour, an almost impenetrable warren of alleys.  We then continue to the ruins of Sijilmassa. After a lunch of local food (Madfouna or Berber pizza), we will return to the dunes of the Merzouga desert.  In the afternoon we will ride the camels to see the sunset over the dunes and spend the night in the desert camp. You will have a traditional dinner, drink delicious mint tea, and listen to Berber music while watching the stars and the rising moon in the amazing Sahara Desert.

DAY 5: MERZOUGA - RISSANI - TODRA - DADES VALLEY

Today we wake up early to see the desert sunrise, we ride camels and we will have breakfast in hotel. We continue to Rissani and we will stop in Erfoud, famous for its fossilized marbles where you will visit the workshop production of marble fossils. Then we continue to Todra valley and we explore best of Todra Gorges,  we check the into the Hotel with dinner.

DAY 6: DADES - SKOURA - OUARZAZATE - AIT BENHADDOU - MARRAKECH

Today we’ll drive through the Dades Valley towards Kelaat Mgouna and the road of thousand Kasbahs, we’ll visit the Roses valley and Skoura kasbah. Then we visit Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa”. Enjoy lunch is at the famous Ait Ben Haddou kasbah, it is the largest Kasbah in Morocco. After exploring The UNESCO World Heritage site, we continue through the Tizi n'Tichka pass, reaching an altitude of 2260 m, over the High Atlas Mountains. We will visit the Argan oil cooperative and you arrive in Marrakech late afternoon. Overnight stay in the riad.

DAY 7: GUIDED EXCURSION IN MARRAKECH

After breakfast, our local guide will take you through some of the historical sites of “The Red City,” including the Bahia Palace, the Saadienne tombs, Jamaa Lafna Square and Ben Youssef Medrasa. Walking through the souks, you’ll enjoy the sights, sounds and bright colors of the market. Then on to the new part of Marrakech and the beautiful Majorelle Gardens, created by Yves St. Laurent. We walk in Jamaa el Fna, the main square in the old city that comes alive at night with snake charmers, storytellers, merchants and tourists enjoying the sights and sounds of Marrakech. Overnight stay in the riad.

DAY 8: MARRAKECH TRANSFER TO ESSAOUIRA (DAY TRIP) AND TRANSFER TO AIRPORT

Today after breakfast we drive to Essaouira, we explore coastal city and a historically prestigious point in Morocco. We’ll discover the ancient streets ,museums and castles and the bronze cannons. In the afternoon we get back to Marrakesh and we stay here overnight in a riad. We will transport you to the airport where your trip ends. End of tour with Sahara Tours Marruecos.
